Pilgrimage
Nepal — the land of the Himalayas, ancient temples, and divine energy — has always held a sacred place in the hearts of Indian pilgrims. For thousands of years, devotees have crossed the Indo-Nepal border to seek blessings at some of the holiest sites in the Hindu and Buddhist world. Our Nepal Darshan Yatra is a carefully crafted 12 Days / 11 Nights journey that takes you through the most spiritually significant destinations on both sides of the border.
Why Nepal is a Pilgrim's Paradise
Nepal is home to some of the most significant religious sites in the Hindu and Buddhist world. The country sits at the foot of the Himalayas and has been a place of spiritual retreat for sages, saints, and seekers for millennia. For Indian pilgrims especially, Nepal offers a unique combination of familiar culture, language, and cuisine with the otherworldly beauty of the Himalayan landscape.
The Nepal Darshan Yatra by Bharat Darshan Yatra is not just a tour — it is a complete spiritual journey. We visit cities of deep religious significance on both sides of the border, creating a seamless experience that connects India's sacred geography with Nepal's divine landscape.

Key Destinations on the Nepal Darshan Yatra
1. Ayodhya — Where the Journey Begins
Our Nepal Darshan Yatra begins in Ayodhya, the birthplace of Lord Ram and one of the seven sacred cities (Sapta Puri) of Hinduism. Since the consecration of the grand Ram Mandir in January 2024, Ayodhya has transformed into one of India's most visited pilgrimage destinations. We visit Ram Janmabhoomi, Hanuman Garhi, Kanak Bhawan, and the beautiful Saryu Ghat where you can witness the evening aarti.
2. Lumbini — The Birthplace of Buddha
Crossing into Nepal, we arrive at Lumbini — the sacred birthplace of Siddhartha Gautama, who later became Lord Buddha. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is a place of profound peace and significance for both Hindus and Buddhists. The Maya Devi Temple marks the exact birthplace, and the surrounding sacred garden is dotted with monasteries built by Buddhist nations from around the world. Walking through Lumbini on a quiet morning is an experience that stays with you forever.
3. Pokhara — Serenity by the Lake
Pokhara is one of Nepal's most beautiful cities, nestled between the Annapurna mountain range and the serene Phewa Lake. We visit the Tal Barahi Temple on the lake island, the International Mountain Museum, and enjoy the breathtaking views of the Himalayan peaks. The Devi's Fall waterfall and the Gupteshwor Cave are also highlights. Pokhara provides a welcome moment of natural beauty and spiritual calm mid-journey.
4. Kathmandu — The City of Temples
Kathmandu, Nepal's capital, is one of the most spiritually rich cities in the world. Our visit includes the famous Pashupatinath Temple — one of the most sacred Shiva temples in the world and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Pilgrims from across South Asia come to seek blessings at Pashupatinath, and the evening aarti on the banks of the Bagmati River is a moving spectacle of devotion. We also visit Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple), Boudhanath Stupa, and Dakshinkali Temple.
5. Muktinath — At the Roof of the World
For those who wish to go higher, Muktinath Temple in the Mustang district is a revered pilgrimage site for both Hindus and Buddhists. Situated at 3,710 metres above sea level, this temple of Lord Vishnu has 108 water spouts and an eternal flame — a rare combination of fire and water considered extremely sacred. The journey to Muktinath through the Himalayan landscape is itself a profound spiritual experience.
6. Janakpur — The Birthplace of Sita Mata
Janakpur, in the Madhesh Province of Nepal, is the birthplace of Goddess Sita and the site where Lord Ram and Sita were married. The magnificent Janaki Mandir, built in 1911, is one of the largest temples in Nepal and a masterpiece of Mughal and Rajput architecture. Visiting Janakpur as part of the Nepal Darshan Yatra completes the Ram-Sita connection and is deeply meaningful for all devotees of Ramayana.
7. Varanasi — Where the Journey Ends
We conclude the Nepal Darshan Yatra in Varanasi (Kashi) — the eternal city and one of the world's oldest continuously inhabited cities. The Ganga Aarti at Dashashwamedh Ghat at sunset is one of the most spectacular and spiritually charged rituals you will ever witness. We also visit Kashi Vishwanath Jyotirlinga (the golden temple), Sankat Mochan Hanuman Temple, and take a sacred dip in the Ganga at the ghats.
